Women are not the only ones who are obsessed with how they look, men too. Although I'm sure they would rather die than admit it. Anyway, it is not only women who need to take good care of their skin, men should also pay attention to maintaining a healthy, pimple-free skin if they want to look half as good as they want to be. For the men, here are some basic tips.

1. Keep your skin clean. Cleanliness is next to prettiness. To minimize your chances of getting pimples, wash your face at least twice a day and bathe regularly. Remember, pimples can also appear on your back and other parts of the body, not just on your face. Avoid rubbing your skin with rough towels, just pat it dry.

2. Choose your cosmetics carefully. After-shaves, cologne, hair sprays, facial washes and lotions fall under this category. If you already have pimples, don't use shaving formulas that are too harsh. Choose those that have the least number of chemical ingredients. Avoid getting hair sprays or gels on your face or it might cause irritation. The choice of facial wash should depend on your skin type: moisture-rich for dry skin and astringent-like types for oily skin.

3. Protect your skin from the sun. Men are more likely to walk around with the sun directly on their faces. Well, you can't blame them; can you imagine them using a parasol? If you need to be out in the sun, use sunscreens or sunblock.

4. Eat right and exercise. Yes, these are necessary. A diet comprised mainly of fresh fruits and vegetables will go a long way towards keeping your skin glowing. Exercising will also help, not to mention that it can help give you a great figure.

5. Avoid excessive drinking and smoking. Drinking occasionally is fine, but don't make a habit of it. Alcohol and cigarettes have been found to cause skin dryness. The drier your skin is, the more prone it is to acne and other breakouts.

Men, like women, should pay more attention to their skin if they want to look good and feel good about themselves. Following these steps will greatly help their cause towards achieving that healthy, glowing, pimple-free skin.
