Live Healthy and Keep Your Skin Acne-Free!

Saturday, March 28, 2009

Living healthy might just keep you acne-free. This is because our everyday habits have a lot of influence on the state of our being. How healthy or unhealthy we are is in turn manifested in our physical looks, particularly in our skin. So to avoid the pimple problem, a bit of adjustment to your lifestyle is in order.

1. Set aside some time for relaxation. No matter how busy you are, take some time to relax. Taking up yoga might be a good idea. Or just simply taking time out from your grinding work. Stress might not be a primary cause of acne, but it sure does make the condition worse because it causes our hormones to get out of control.

2. Adjust your sleeping patterns. No matter how many hours you sleep, it wouldn't beat sleeping at night. Meaning, you might sleep the whole day for 12 hours, but an eight-hour sleep during the night is still much better. Getting enough sleep is necessary if you want to keep your skin from drying, your eyes from sagging and your pimples from appearing.

3. Replace the fast-food favorites with fruits and vegetable salads. Snack time should be a healthy time. Instead of grabbing a burger sandwich, eat an apple or a salad, they will help keep your skin hydrated and protect you from skin breakouts.

4. Use the stairs instead of the elevator. Unless your office is in the 10th floor, use the stairs. In short, get as much exercise as your busy schedule can afford. Exercising stimulates our body and promotes better blood circulation; the better for our skin and our whole body.

5. Moisturize. Whatever your skin type is, moisturizing nightly is a must. Particularly if you're pushing to that age when tiny lines are starting to appear. Moisturizers help soften your skin and protect you from irritants that can contribute to acne breakouts and other skin problems.

No matter what age we are, caring for our skin should always be given priority. It doesn't need much effort; just a few adjustments on our daily habits can go a long way towards avoiding the pimple problem.
