There are countless acne treatments available over the counter. Some work, and some don't work. Some are expensive, and other's are inexpensive, although usually, the most expensive, unaffordable treatments are usually the one's that work the very best. However, there are home remedies to heal acne quick that you can try, without spending alot of money.
The most common home remedies to heal acne quick is the use of essential oils that can be purchased in a health food store. These oils are applied directly to the acne, although if you have sensitive skin, you should dilute the oil with grapeseed oil. Common essential oils for the treatment of acne include rose hip seed oil, sandalwood, and lavender. Primrose oil can also help.
Applying ice to the area can help reduce the inflammation quickly, making the pimple less noticeable. Some people report that ground nutmeg, mixed with cold milk and applied on the affected area works quite well as a home remedy to heal acne quick.
Toothpaste is another common home remedy for acne. Buy the plain white toothpaste. Don't use gels. Simply dab a little toothpaste on the pimple and leave it overnight. By morning, the inflammation should be greatly reduced, and the pimple may even be completely gone.
Milk of magnesia has also been reported to work well for the treatment of acne. Instead of taking it internally, use a q-tip or cotton ball to apply it directly to the pimple. Allow it to dry, then rinse it off with cool water. Apply it two or three times per day for the fastest results.
Avoid popping or squeezing the pimple, as that will only serve to cause further breakouts, and will possibly cause scarring. Also, instead of getting rid of the pimple, it actually makes it much more noticeable, by leaving a big red spot from all the squeezing!
Some people even report that you can reduce or eliminate pimples by putting a drop of visine on it, although this may not work for most people. The point is that many home remedies to heal acne quick are available, and most of them actually do work just as well as anything that you could buy in your local drug store. But they don't always work quickly. How fast a treatment works - whether it is home made or store bought - depends on many factors, including the severity of the acne.
