Getting Rid Of Blackheads And Having Healthy Skin
Wednesday, March 18, 2009
Teenagers have quite a number of dilemmas to contend with. Among them are hormonal changes in the body. Such changes bring about certain consequences. One of those is acne, one of the most common problems during adolescence. Acne results from excess sebum production in the skin. More often, it is hormonal factors which trigger acne.
Poor facial hygiene would aggravate it as well. And then again, there are several types of acne, one of which is blackheads. Blackheads are quite stubborn, and they get in the way of smooth and healthy skin. Such obstructions are deeply embedded into the skin. It could be a struggle to get rid of blackheads.
As they sink deeper into the skin, removing them can be painful. And one has to be careful because scarring may happen. Facials are an effective way of blackhead removal. But such a beauty regimen is often expensive. A teenager wouldn’t have the means yet to invest for such a treatment.
The best way it seems for teenagers is to primarily avoid having blackheads. This can be done through good facial hygiene. But what really are blackheads and what causes them? Such a skin problem is the result of the increased secretion of sebum. As many well know, they are dark color formations which block the pores.
As the formations accumulate in the pore, they harden and thus become toxic. This toxic substance is made up of blood, sebum and lymph fluid. It's also in the form of a sticky gel. The exposed area changes in color and becomes dark or black due to corrosion. And the term is thus derived – blackhead.
Blackheads are more often observed among teenagers. This is primarily due to the hormonal and physiological changes that they go through. Alterations in the hormonal processes cause increased sebum production. Such is why acne develops. Not only teenagers can suffer from acne, though- adults can, too. Blackheads are a form of acne in themselves, thus it is possible to control and prevent them.
By following guidelines on skin and facial hygiene, many skin and acne problems can be warded off and dealt with. The following solutions could be helpful. One is to apply facial cleanser which is suitable for oily skin. An astringent would be helpful for this purpose. Gels or creams containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and resorcinol would be effective as well.
Along with a good facial wash or foam, these would be useful for treating blackheads. Other than these, there are alternative means for blackhead treatment and removal. Such alternative treatments are often inexpensive and yet equally effective. One of them, and the easiest is to take a sunbath. Skin peeling occurs during a sunbath which is why the pores are cleaned.
This is among the natural modes for blackhead removal. In addition, the use of soaps of the face must be limited. As much as oil causes acne and other beauty dilemmas, some amount of it is needed by the skin. All these and more are healthy means of removing blackheads and having smooth, healthy skin.
